Pointless Diagrams Division (PDD) of Nordeast Industries is thrilled to announce the introduction of our new Sustainability Series!!!!! We know, sit down, take a breath, we’re pretty overwhelmed too. As everyone knows the PDD is green to the core (deco-aqua is our favorite prismacolor pencil…) so we decided to go even further, no more preaching green, we took action with this, the first of our series, check it out:

The paper for this drawing comes from a book that was procured from a hotel bedstand somewhere on a backpacking trip in the southwest of this fine country. Josh thought that awfully generous to include with the free shampoo packets and shower gels and so after dumping those and a couple of rolls of toilet paper in his backpack on the morning of deaparture he tossed it in the top of his backpack and was on his way.

4 years later, late January, while unpacking boxes and having forgotten his sketchbook at his loft he came across a thick, small dense block of a book and remembered procuring it from that motel years before but never cracking the cover. Upon opening it he was pulled in by its fantastical absurdity, it’s hopeless and hysterical irreverence, it seemed as if the author was openly welcoming the reader to come and laugh at themselves, the texts he blatantly stole from, at everything in general and yet to still appreciate the raw beauty in it.

After reading through it barely eating or sleeping in a week josh declared it a prime canvas for pointless diagrams and began doodling on it on February 2nd. This is the origin story for the Pointless Diagrams Sustainability Series, a Genesis if you will. All will be drawn on entirely useless papers, but this particular text is even based on an older story that was completely inane, thus the Pointless Diagrams Division is Pleased to show you Josh Lewandowski’s hat-trick of the perfectly absurd.

Hello Z, thanks for commenting and we are sorry that you were offended, but don’t feel like we are picking on just the Mormons. Coming up we hope to take at stab ancient Greeks, undergraduate daily newspaper editors, and people who take the quizzes in Cosmo magazines. There Is a plethora of pointless paper to doodle over yet sadly just one life to do it in.
